Post-Potter

So I'm curious as to what everyone has chosen to read AFTER Deathly Hallows. What world did you visit next? Something completely different? Another fantasy? Did you take a break from reading? Watch a movie? Start re-reading?

I'll post a review of the book I chose Thursday night.

I'm tip-toeing my way through Deathly Hallows still. Was gone Saturday speaking at a writers conference, and trying to find extra time in the week to meet a self-imposed writing deadline. All this with HP7 sitting there beckoning!? The wife and I have been passing it and our five-year-old daughter back and forth during every spare moment we have this week. I skimmed through your comments up through the page I've read to, and no more. I look forward to comparing notes. I just finished chapter fifteen, and I'm wondering if anyone else was ready for things to get the heck moving around this time. Enough with the moping and crying - get out there and do something! (I'll say no more to prevent spoilers - although I dare say I'm bringing up the rear in the Deathly Hallows reading marathon . . .)

Well, 'Wednesday Wars', as you know. Then 'The Candy Shop War', a fantasy by Brandon Mull with a really great premise, the only thing is the characters are very flat, and I think the fact is perhaps accentuated since HP7 is filled with such real, 3D characters.

I wasn't going to read any fantasy right away, but my review for CSW is due soon.

Listening to A Room with a View on tape which is *amazing*! Great book club pick- I love it. And very different from HP to say the least :)

A cook book, or something non-fiction. I was in the middle of "There's a (Slight) Chance I Might be Going to Hell" when I picked up HP7. I can't go back to it yet.

Alan, are you saying that you don't trust my claims of no spoilers? (I wouldn't either - even tho there aren't any)

Sonia, glad you liked A Room With A View. I've got 12 days to read it...

Erin, I'll look for you CSW review.

GH, I totally get wanting to read something completely different so you can process Potter.

Lis, HOW WAS THE WEDDING!!!

I've sort of started reading an adult mystery called, What the Dead Know. But mostly I've been taking a TV break and watching Buffy and Angel on DVD. Speaking of spoilers, I've never watched either show before and I keep running into "spoilers" in the strangest places...

I'm finally reading Eragon...you should be proud!

I re-read Half-Blood Prince. I wanted to reread Deathly Hallows, but other family members had stolen it. And then I was able to move on to non-HP stuff: Under the Rose by Diana Peterfreund, Gentle's Holler by Kerry Madden, and a couple others.

Seriously, Josh? You are just NOW reading Eragon? Wow. I would have thought I'd bullied you into that YEARS ago. hmm. Know what else you should read? Ranger's Apprentice.

Jocelyn, yeah I truly get the re-read. I hated to leave that world behind. Gentle's Holler is on my to-read shelf!

I'm re-reading 'The Ranger's apprentice', so I can read the 2 sequals.
